The Exchange is a new artisan market taking over the space formerly held by Barnes & Noble at Newport on the Levee.
The 11,000-square-foot Exchange will house a rotating roster of local craftspeople, makers and indie merchants. The concept will host its grand opening on Nov. 14 and has announced their first round of vendors, ready for the holiday season.
- Covington's Ripple Wine Bar has signed on to manage the bar at the center of the market over the holidays and will be offering 15 different wines (by the glass or bottle), cheese and charcuterie, including take-home options.
- Colonel De Gourmet Herbs & Spices will be selling shakers, samplers sets and packets of their spices.
- Farmhouse Goods Company, a general-style store, will be offering everything from "vintage Rock T-shirts to gourmet, handcrafted caramel apples" from a ski-lodge-style trailer.
- &Sundries will be offering handcrafted cold-process soap and lotions.
- ANEW Clothing will have one-of-a-kind scrunchies made from upcycled clothing and hand-painted denim.
- Roebling Books, the existing Covington book and coffeeshop, will have an outpost offering a selection of curated books.
- Bluegrass & Sass, a curated boutique offering young contemporary clothing, accessories, home decor, and more, as well as items like fiber arts, baked goods and signs from local artisans.
- Ten Thousand Villages, selling worldly artisan, fair trade items ranging from home decor and gifts to personal accessories. The brand has over 390 retail outlets across the nation, which offer products from over 38 countries.
- Queen City Cotton Candy, a local gourmet cotton candy cart that "turns spinning tasty cotton candy into an unforgettable experience."
- The Micro Shop, vendor space that rotates every two weeks with a new local concept.
“The Exchange Market’s collection of makers and merchants transforms the Levee into a true holiday shopping destination,” said Regan (Noppenberger) Thomas, leasing representative at NAP in a press release.
“In addition to creating a dynamic and vibrant retail experience unlike anything in the region, the market gives small businesses and local entrepreneurs a platform to bring their concepts to life in an active, mixed-use environment, which continues to be a primary focus of the Levee’s redevelopment.”
In addition to The Exchange's new vendor additions, the market will be buzzing with entertainment and activities including a slew of "festive experiences" like cookie decorating workshops, holiday-themed fitness classes, Santa story time and happy hours.
Outside of the The Exchange, Bridge View Boxpark at Newport on the Levee will be keeping busy with their new Gameday at the Levee series, where football fans can reserve turf squares on the plaza starting at 11 a.m. (first come first serve) and enjoy watching their fave college or NFL teams on the big screen. The Bridgeview Box Park's Kon Tiki will transform into "Fire Lounge," cozying up with rentable heated igloos beginning Nov. 20, which feature lounge seating for up to eight guests and a personal sound system. Reserve yours online.
