Northside's New Climbing Gym 'Climb Cincy' Sets Opening Date

The much-anticipated bouldering facility will begin offering day passes on Tuesday, Sept. 8

Several years in the making, Northside's much-anticipated Climb Cincy bouldering facility has announced its opening dates.

Members of the gym will get to enjoy its facilities first during the soft opening from Sept. 5-7. On Tuesday, Sept. 8, Climb Cincy will begin offering day passes. 

The gym — located at 1708 Blue Rock St. — focuses on bouldering, with 120 problems that range in level from VB to V10 and walls ranging from 11- to 13-feet tall, which rotate roughly every five months. They also have a MoonBoard, Campus Board and a fitness gym in the works. 

"Climb Cincy will cater to climbers of all ages and skill levels, with a focus on quality routesetting, convenient and affordable services close to the downtown area, and programs to provide access to those that otherwise would not be able to experience rock climbing," their website explains.  

Day passes cost $15 for your first visit and include an all-day pass, rentals and a bouldering orientation. Returning day passes cost $12 and do not include shoe rentals or chalk bags, which cost $5 and $1, respectively. 

The also gym offers two different membership options.

The individual membership costs $64 per month and includes unlimited climbing and fitness gym usage; 10% off retail, equipment and apparel; gym usage at Hoosier Heights BloomingtonHoosier Heights Indianapolis and Climb NuLu; five free guest passes per year; and $2 shoe rentals. The start-up fee for new members costs $35. 

The family membership costs $139 per month (all members must live in the same household and share an address) and includes unlimited climbing and fitness gym usage for all family members; 10% off retail, equipment and apparel; gym usage at Hoosier Heights BloomingtonHoosier Heights Indianapolis and Climb NuLu; five free guest passes per year; and $2 shoe rentals. The start-up fee for new family memberships costs $65. 

The gym is currently offering two "grand opening specials": a three-month membership special and an annual membership special. The first 100 people to sign up before Oct. 1 will receive a free custom T-shirt.
