The family behind Stafford Jewelers is branching out into other luxury goods with the opening of ShopJacobJames, a resale boutique on Hyde Park Square that specializes in new and pre-owned high-end jewelry and accessories.
The shop will carry designer handbags, wallets, scarves, sunglasses, hats and more than 200 pieces of jewelry, including men's Swiss watches, all sourced, curated and authenticated by Stafford's network of buyers and partners. ShopJacobJames is also looking to purchase preowned luxury accessories on consignment.
"With the resale retail market on pace to reach $41 billion dollars by 2020, and the rise of digital resale outlets like the RealReal and Poshmark, Stafford Jewelers recognized an opportunity to create a tangible customer experience, where shoppers can see, touch and feel items in person," reads a release.
The shop is also in line with the trend of focusing on customers buying resale and secondhand — especially luxury goods — to avoid the waste and human labor issues generated by the fast fashion industry.
The shop, named after Amy Stafford's sons Jacob and Jimmy, opens June 1 and is located at 3446 Edwards Road, Hyde Park. Get more info at shop shopjacobjames.com.
