The Cincinnati Museum Center’s CurioCity series is a 21-and-up social event for those adults interested in history, science, conversation and cocktails.

Held at venues inside the museum and across the city, each CurioCity is themed around a different topic for guests to learn about something new from curators and experts.

This time, take a step back into the 1850s for a booze cruise on the Queen of the West riverboat. Head to the restored Public Landing inside the Museum Center to see a recreated Cincinnati cityscape: wander the cobblestone streets of the landing and grab a frothy brew from the German biergarten; visit dressmakers and print shops or an open-air market; take a selfie in the historic Ball & Thomas portrait studio; and get a general feel for what life was like in 19th-century Porkopolis.

6-9 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 31). $15 non-members; $10 members. Cincinnati Museum Center, 1301 Western Ave., Queensgate, cincymuseum.org
