Quarantine is coming to a close in the Greater Cincinnati area as businesses begin to open, stay-at-home orders are ending and small groups are beginning to gather — at safe distances.

Many of us have documented our experiences during this unprecedented time through either photography, journaling or gathering materials, and the Cincinnati Museum Center is asking the community to submit their stories to be used in future programing about the pandemic.

Pandemic Stories: Greater Cincinnati and the 2020 COVID-19 Crisis is accepting pieces that can paint a picture of what life was like for our city during this time.

"By donating your reflections on this pandemic and any related photographs and items, you enable us to develop a record of this time and create a valuable resource for future generations," the website says.

"Record your thoughts and experiences by keeping a journal. Think about how you and others have adapted to life with social distancing, business and workplace closures, and virtual workplaces and schools. Collect items and objects directly related to COVID-19, focusing on things that are personal and unique to your life. Photograph our community and how it has changed or stayed the same."

Be mindful that these donated items may be publicly displayed through the Cincinnati History Library and Archives, through CMC exhibits, online, etc. and by releasing these items for their archives, you are agreeing to have them shared in this manner.

"Only share what you feel comfortable sharing with the world. Please do not disclose other people’s health or personal information," the site explains.

If you have a physical item to donate, drop-off time and dates will be announced soon; visit their website for updates. You can also mail them to the museum; see website for address. If you have a digital copy you'd like to submit, you can upload it online.
