CityBeat is thankful for cheap beer, so there's no better way to celebrate Thanksgiving in true Midwestern fashion than to drink too much beer at a sporting event the night before we eat too many carbs with family. While you don't need a bucket of beer to enjoy hockey as a spectator, it really doesn't hurt.

The Cincinnati Cyclones are up against the Kalamazoo Wings and the crowd inside the U.S. Bank Arena is up against Pabst Blue Ribbon and Miller High Life at a buck per can.

There are group ticket discounts if you roll in with the extended family and, maybe if everyone at the table is extra hungover, they'll be too beleaguered to argue politics in between mouthfuls of mashed potatoes.

Please, overdrink responsibly.

7:30 p.m. puck drop Wednesday (Nov. 21). $15-$29.50. U.S. Bank Arena, 100 Broadway, Downtown, cycloneshockey.com.
