Comedian Godfrey is probably as well known for his TV presenting skills and voiceover roles as he is for his stand up. From co-hosting the outdoor competition Bullseye on FOX to playing Kofi on the popular animated series Steven Universe, Godfrey is one busy man.
Born to Nigerian parents, Godfrey had a hard time convincing his friends he was a second-generation African. Even now it surprises people.
“They don’t believe me cuz I got clothes on,” he tells an audience. “When you say you’re African, people want that Discovery Channel African.”
Onstage his set is a mix of childhood recollections, current experiences and occasionally politics.
Once in a while he’ll pull out some impressions. “Whatever comes to mind,” he says.
