Located in the former A Tavola storefront on Vine Street, PearlStar is the brainchild of Nashville restaurateur Terry Raley, serving up both East and West Coast oysters (the menu lists the provenance of the recent catch) and other raw delicacies like crudo, ceviche and tartare. But if you like your seafood graced with a touch of heat, PearlStar also offers cooked items, including coal-fired steak and a burger. The “baked oyster” snack features three bivalves topped with tonnato butter, chile, herbs and breadcrumbs, which are then baked in a wood-fired oven. It’s a take on classic oysters Rockefeller — and perfect for people who don’t do seafood on ice. But if you do feel like slurping down some oysters on a summer’s day, the 2,000-square-foot interior of PearlStar is complemented by a 2,000-square-foot outdoor patio, complete with bocce ball. pearl-star.com.
