Best Bedroom Pop

Counting SOPHIE, Kanye West and Kate Bush among her influences, rapper/producer Chloe Hotline makes brooding Bedroom Pop that’s unconcerned with genre. Behind the boards, she crafts reverb-drenched soundscapes from retro synths and slowed-down samples, blending contemporary R&B with club-centric percussion that recalls Chicago House or New Orleans Bounce. 2021, which saw the release of her album +NSTYNCT, was perhaps her busiest year to date. In addition to the full-length record, she released a flurry of singles, a Cicada-themed summer mixtape as well as collaborations with rising underground artists Girls Rituals and Ethel Cain.
