Lil’s Bagels surprised bagel lovers and loyal customers after it closed its Covington location permanently in December 2022 only to resurface as Lil’s Kitchen in January. Failed lease negotiations and high rent costs caused the closure of Lil’s Bagels, but owner Julia Keister was planning a comeback that no one foresaw. Lil’s Kitchen began operating out of Roebling Point Books & Coffee locations in Newport and Covington in March. Lil’s Kitchen will offer new and old recipes including sandwiches and smoothies and eventually get back to preparing homemade bagels. Keister has big plans for the future and hopes to finalize a permanent kitchen space so Lil’s signature “hawt” sauce can continue enhancing sandwiches near you. facebook.com/lilsbagels.
