Kon-Tiki’s Wicked Halloween

Newport’s Kon-Tiki is throwing a wicked Halloween party this year. Sticking to their roots they will be serving smoking tiki cocktails and carving up some jack-o-lantern pineapples just for the occasion. Take a night off on the Levee to enjoy some live music and a costume contest with a $300 cash first place prize. 7-10 p.m. Oct 31. 1 Levee Way, Newport.

Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Contest at Findlay Market Biergarten

Pet Wants and Findlay Market are teaming up to host a costume contest for dogs. Every competing furry friend will get a free treat from Pet Wants and the grand prize winner will enjoy a year’s supply of Pet Wants dog food. Judges will rate costumes based on cleverness, creativity, ability to keep costume on as intended, and overall "cuteness factor." Dog-owners must register on October 31 at Pet Wants or 30 minutes prior to the event in the Findlay Market Biergarten. $5 per entry. 4 p.m. Oct 31. $5 per entry. Halloween Scream at the Hub OTR

Per the event description: "We’re holding down Halloween with our mandatory October scream. Wear your best costume, grab your megaphone or just your screaming voice and all of your never ending love for 2020 and it’s surprises. The Palm Court at downtown’s Hilton Netherland Plaza is featuring a Halloween Maskerade for parties of 4-10. Guests enjoy live music, special cocktails, and are encouraged to wear costumes or upscale cocktail attire. A costume contest will be held with the winning prize of a weekend stay at the hotel. Cincinnati Pops' Live From Music Hall: Autumn Celebration

The Cincinnati Pops are helping set the stage for your own Halloween party with a livestream of spooky tunes and Dia de los Muertos favorites from Music Hall. The Pops, conducted by John Morris Russell, will perform a slew of both horror movie songs (plus music from Harry Potter) and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, narrated by actor Damon Gupton (Criminal Minds). 8 p.m. Oct. 31. Halloween Party of a Lifetime at All Hallows Eve Terror Town

On Halloween Night, this haunted 19th-century Western town is hosting a special celebration with plenty of food, drinks and entertainment including “cannon fire, Gatling gun fire and full blown horror shows; plus live music, karaoke, horror movies and games and haunted trails." Unforgettable Haunt: A Halloween Weekend Experience

Looking for some entertaining Halloween weekend plans? Over-the-Rhine's subterranean nightclub Ghost Baby is transforming into an "Unforgettable Haunt" on Friday, Oct. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 31. The lounge will host two evenings of "shocking displays, burlesque-on-parade and an array of spectral surprises," in addition to live music from Afrochine.
