Dave Ross was a stand-up comedy fan who had no plans of becoming a comic. Instead, he began a career as a radio DJ before figuring out that the station’s management really didn’t care about the air staff.

A colleague decided to try stand-up, so Ross figured he should, too. Comfortable behind a radio mic, it took him a little time to get his stage legs. Today, he headlines comedy clubs across the country.

Most of his comedy is drawn from his personal life. “My roommate asked if I wanted to go to his dance-fighting class,” he tells an audience. “I would love to go to the Two Things That Made High School Suck Class. Why don’t we combine two more things that embarrass me on their own? ‘Dude, come to the bar tomorrow night — it’s Job Interview-Ask to Borrow Money Night!’”
