Fox’s political Twitter account early today and posted updates that said President Barack Obama had been assassinated. In a series of six tweets from the FoxNewsPolitics account reported that an unknown assailant shot Obama to death in Iowa. Fox News called the tweets “malicious” and “false” in a statement on its website later in the morning and that the hacking is being investigated.—-
Michele Bachmann told supporters Saturday that she is working to defeat President Obama and will “help him find a job” after she wins the 2012 presidential race and she thinks “that there is a certain Hawaiian president who should go back to Hawaii!”
“I want you to know, as president of the United States, I look forward to creating real jobs for both the Treasury secretary and the president of the United States,” Bachmann said.
A foreign subsidiary of Koch Industries acknowledged that it made thousands of dollars in illegal contributions to state candidates between 2005 and 2009 and on Friday agreed to settle a case brought forth by the Federal Election Commission. The company's submission "states that the violations resulted from a general lack of knowledge among company personnel of either the nature of INVISTA's legal structure or of the restrictions that applied to it as a foreign company," the FEC's general counsel wrote.
A French novelist will file a criminal complaint on Tuesday accusing Dominique Strauss-Kahn of attempted rape back in 2002. The sexual assault case against Strauss-Kahn in New York has been weakened by questions about his accuser’s credibility, but writer Tristane Banon announced that she planned to make an official complaint after Strauss-Kahn allegedly wrenched open her bra and attempted to unbutton her jeans back in 2002.
A Michigan inmate says he’s being subjected to cruel and unusual punishment because he can’t have pornography. In a handwritten lawsuit, 21-year-old Kyle Richards claims his civil rights are being violated at the Macomb County Jail after his requests for erotic material was denied. Richards said the jail is subjecting him to a “poor standard of living” and “sexual and sensory deprivation.”
Richards is awaiting sentencing after being charged with bank robbery after police followed a trail of snowy footprints and money to his apartment from a bark robbery scene in back in January.
