Columbus' Center of Science and Industry (COSI) was named the best science museum in the nation in a recent reader's choice poll from USA Today's 10Best series.

The publication's 10Best lists are compiled by local or national experts that are both well-traveled and well-educated, according to the website. The experts curate an unbiased list of the best restaurants, things to do or see, attractions, etc. and readers vote on their favorites.

It comes as no surprise that COSI scored the top spot on the list. The epic science center spans over 320,000 square feet and offers more than 300 interactive experiences, nine galleries with both permanent and traveling exhibitions like the popular Dinosaur Gallery, a planetarium, live shows, little kids exhibits and more.

USA Today describes the science center as such:

"Visitors can turn into astronauts with the snap of the finger at this Columbus, Ohio museum by riding in a mock space shuttle. COSI offers a wide array of permanent exhibits and hosts a few traveling ones, too. If space isn't of interest, check out the American Museum of Natural History Dinosaur Gallery and Ohio’s largest Planetarium, or maybe take a tour of the ancient stories of the sea hosted by Poseidon himself. Lift a 2,437-pound car with the help of a lever in the outdoor Big Science park."

Coming in at the No. 2 spot was Tellus Science Museum in Cartersville, Georgia, followed by the Field Museum in Chicago. Here's the full list.

The Center of Science and Industry is located at 333 W. Broad St., Columbus. See ticket info here.
