Free Breakfast for Cyclists Thursday-Friday

This is "Bike to Work Week," the happiest time of year (next to Halloween of course) in my book.

If you're on two wheels this week and the weather turns dry, you're in luck. —-

Thursday is Bike to Work Day, when La Terza Coffee and Five Star Foodies are handing out light breakfast food, cider and coffee to cyclists 7-9 a.m. There's also a party for cyclists (and the sympathetic drivers) featuring live music and presentations on bicycling as a form of transit, exercise and recreation 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Both events take place Thursday on Fountain Square downtown.

The Metro Bus is half-price for cyclists on Thursday and TANK Bus in Northern Kentucky is free.

There are two more free breakfasts offered on Friday. Bike Newport has Belgian Waffles, fruit, juice, pastries and more for cyclists on their side of the Purple People Bridge at 6-9 a.m. University Hospital has free doughnuts for anyone on a bike at the entrance of the Crawley Building at the corner of Eden Ave. and Albert Sabin Way from 6:15-8:45 a.m.
