American Legacy Tours, one of CityBeat readers' favorite tour companies in our annual Best Of Cincinnati poll, has released a cool new feature in light of the COVID-19 pandemic: they've gone digital.
The company is now leading virtual video tours of some popular local sites. Episode one takes you inside the Kauffman Brewery's lagering tunnel, which they generally feature on their Queen City Underground tour.
The second episode goes inside the historic Emery Theatre in Over-the-Rhine.
The Emery, which hosted the Cincinnati Symphony orchestra from 1912 to 1936, was once considered to be one of the best theaters in the country and almost acoustically perfect. It has since deteriorated after former building owner the University of Cincinnati considered it "beyond repair." Last year, the theater and the building in which it sits was purchased by a development partnership who hopes to restore it to its former glory.
"Our Director of Business Operations Manager, Craig, will take you on a tour inside this 108 year old building," says American Legacy Tours. "You will learn about the history of this unique structure, explore the inside and see the amazing architecture. You will get a glimpse of the beauty and charm within the Emery Theatre."
