The confectionary minds behind Grandpa Joe's Candy Shop are damn geniuses (or pregnant or super, super high). They have concocted the completely insane Pickle Oreo and people — and People — are freaking out.

The sweet and savory combo was recently featured in People online:

Peanut butter and jelly, milk and cookies, ham and cheese — some things just belong together. But pickles and Oreo cookies? That’s a combination we never would have thought of.

Bill Kelly, the owner of Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop, a chain of sweet stores with nine locations in Pennsylvania and Ohio, is probably the first person to ever mix the two beloved foods, putting a dill pickle slice inside a classic Oreo cookie. Now, he offers the unique, sweet-and-sour sandwiches at his shops.

As crazy as the flavor combination sounds, Kelly promises that pickle Oreos are an absolute treat. In fact, he told the Dayton Daily News, they’re “kind of a big dill.”

According to the Grandpa Joe's site , both pickles and Oreos are delicious so they combined them and covered them in chocolate. "Pickle Oreos consist of a normal Oreo with a sliced pickle in the middle, on top of (a) marshmallow. The Oreo is reassembled and then drenched in chocolate."

Yeah. There's a goddamn marshmallow in there. What the hell, Grandpa Joe?

A three-pack of these freaky little treats costs $9 and you can buy them online — and have them shipped to you. The shop recommends you add thermal and ice protection at check-out so they don't melt.

In addition to Pickle Oreos, the candy shop also offers dill pickle soda, small-batch pickle cotton candy and pickle candy canes

Grandpa Joe's has Ohio locations in Miamisburg, Chillicothe, Troy, Cuyahoga Falls and Middletown (1212 Central Ave. in the former historic Liberty Diner).
