This Covington rooftop spot by the folks from downstairs Commonwealth Bistro features a chic treehouse-esque bar with a small tapas menu, craft cocktails, mocktails, beer and wine.
Inspired by owners Chris and Tess Burns' love of Kentucky State Parks,Yonder opened last June and is reopening for the summer on May 28. It will be open 5-11 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays.
"Chris and I and our entire team are avid outdoors lovers and we wanted to bring that feeling to the rooftop," explains Tess in an email. "Nestled in the middle of the city, this is a place where you can relax, leave the 9-to-5 behind and enjoy skillful crafted cocktails."
"We worked to capture that feeling you get when you drive down to the Red River Gorge on a Friday night after a long work week — that moment you have a drink and snack in hand, can finally exhale and truly be present with the company of good friends," she adds.
The breezy, plant-filled bar holds approximately 30 guests and features cozy, communal bench seating, hanging rattan chairs and five seats along the bar.
