This June, Batavia, Ohio radio station WOBO (listen at 88.7 FM or wobofm.com) is bringing to Owensville, Ohio an impressive lineup of popular and acclaimed Bluegrass acts for its third-annual Bluegrass Bash, a four-day music festival at the Clermont County Fairgrounds.
Running June 4-7, the festival is a fundraiser for the radio station, which has been on the air for more than 40 years (it was originally run by students in the Clermont Northeastern School District), playing Country, Bluegrass, Blues, Jazz, Gospel and more. The listener-supported station recently upgraded its original transmitter and antenna, which more than doubled its reach.
Being timed just before the legendary, long-running Bean Blossom Bluegrass Festival in Indiana seems to work well for the Bluegrass Bash, whose impressive lineup has some overlap.
Appearing at the 2020 Bash: Rhonda Vincent & The Rage; Ralph Stanley II & The Clinch Mountain Boys; Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver; The Seldom Scene; Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out; Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper; The Cleverly’s; Kristi Stanley & Running Blind; Hammertowne; Shannon Slaughter; The Grascals; The Bluegrass Outlaws; The Daltons; The Larry Stephenson Band; Lorraine Jordan & Carolina Road; Fenced In; Jerry Salley; Slippery Creek; Big Country Bluegrass; Gary Strong & Hard Times; Tony Holt & The Wildwood Valley Boys; and Larry Efaw & The Bluegrass Mountaineers.
