Columbus-based watering hole Oddfellows Liquor Bar has officially arrived in Over-the-Rhine, bringing with it an eccentrically-themed place to hang out and drink.
A sister company — and neighbor — to the new Mikey’s Late Night Slice on Elm Street, it’s almost too convenient that the bar is located right next door to everyone’s favorite drunken food craving: only a fool would pass on the opportunity to follow liquor with pizza.
Oddfellows technically kicked things off on Opening Day morning with breakfast pizza and Holtman’s Donuts (and line dancing women dressed as Rosie Red, if you’re keeping up with their Instagram stories), but don’t worry if you missed it — they’re saving the real party for Saturday, March 30. Head to the bar between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m. for the official grand opening, complete with drink specials and a live DJ.
Oddfellows features 16 beers on tap and a seasonal cocktail menu. Summer libations include the Cincinnati Sling with Tito’s vodka, cynar, honey, lemon and Stiegl Radler grapefruit beer; Fast and Loose with George Dickel rye, Italian vermouth, peach bitters and champagne; and Previously on Lost, a Vida mezcal cocktail with allspice, blue Curaçao, pineapple and lemon.
If you can’t wait until tomorrow, head over tonight during happy hour 4-7 p.m. for a first look at the bar’s “museum-caliber level of design” and half off drafts, $3 wells and domestics, $5 wines and $1 cocktails.
The Columbus location has played host to pop-up restaurants, pool parties and drunk spelling bees, so here’s hoping that Oddfellows brings some of the fun down south to Cincy. If their opening weekend is any indication of what’s to come, our fingers are crossed for a never-ending party.
