Listen to "Hide It In The Night," the first single off of Cincinnati rockers Electric Citizen's forthcoming album, 'Helltown'

The band's new album — named after the Northside neighborhood the musicians call home — releases internationally in September on Easy Rider Records

Just a couple of weeks ago Cincinnati heavy Rock crew Electric Citizen announced a nationwide tour opening for Monster Magnet. The group hinted at its anticipated new album in a Facebook post, saying it would be released on Sept. 28, the same day the tour kicks off in Toronto. Late last week, new details emerged about the LP, which is Electric Citizen's third.

The album is titled Helltown and its first single, "Hide It in the Night," debuted via Metal Injection. Helltown is the first project recorded with Brian Olive at his new Mt. Saturn studio

Helltown is a nickname for the Cincinnati neighborhood of Northside, where the album was recorded and the members reside. According to a press release, Northside "earned its name in the 1800s due to its reputation for rowdy taverns frequented by the neighborhood of factory workers and immigrants."

Helltown, the album, is described as a return to the tightness and rawness of Electric Citizen's 2014 album debut, Sateen. It also marks the return of original bassist Nick Vogelpohl.

The group is playing a hometown show on July 28 at Northside Yacht Club. More details here.
