The deep-fried offspring of Over-the-Rhine's The Eagle, CityBird is a fast-casual chicken tender joint from Cincinnati-based Thunderdome Restaurant Group. The eatery dishes out cage-free, all-natural chicken paired with housemade craft sauces in addition to sandwiches, salads and sides.
The restaurant, which opened in OTR in 2018, is expanding with a third location in Crestview Hills Town Center (2887 Dixie Highway, Crestview Hills, Kentucky); a second location opened in Harper's Point in July 2019. A fourth location is slated to open in the next few months on Beechmont Avenue in Anderson Township.
The Crestview location's grand opening is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29 and, according to a release, the first 50 guests will get a free meal. The restaurant also features a dining room for those who want to dine in. CityBird will also be donating a portion of Wednesday's sales to the DCCH Center for Children and Families, which, according to its website, "helps rebuild the lives of individuals with traumatic, emotional and behavioral difficulties."
