Cincinnati Pop Rock greats Psychodots played their final show together at Over-the-Rhine’s Woodward Theater last November. For fans who couldn’t make it — or those who did and want a forever-souvenir — a limited-edition DVD of the concert will be made available tomorrow (Feb. 15) at local record shops Everybody’s Records in Pleasant Ridge and Shake It Records in Northside.
Part of an enduring Cincinnati music legacy that also includes the bands The Raisins and The Bears (whose songs were played at the finale), as well as various individual projects by group members Chris Arduser, Bob Nyswonger and Rob Fetters, the ’dots announced that their sold-out 2018 Thanksgiving-time show at the Woodward would be the band’s final gig ever.
A few songs from the recording of the concert that were posted on YouTube show the concert film to be a high-quality project in terms of audio (supervised by local recording experts Ashley Shepherd and Matt Hueneman) and video production (it was filmed and edited by Robert Mills).
According to social media posts by Nyswonger, 250 DVDs (signed by the three musicians) will be available exclusively at Everybody’s and Shake It while they last. Nyswonger and Fetters both posted that the stores would ship DVDs to out-of-town fans.
