There are few things better than the gift of great cheese. And OTR cheese shop The Rhined understands that, so they are asking local folks to nominate some members of the Greater Cincinnati community who deserve a cheesy pick-me-up in these unprecedented times.
"Covid-19 and the subsequent isolation has been tough on the psyche of so many. Our industry is built on the service of others — bringing our community joy is what energizes us under normal circumstances, but it’s what has kept us going in our new 'normal.' And with so many people hurting and struggling around us, we’re hoping to spread a little cheese cheer one cheese plate at a time with 'Random Acts of Cheese,' ” The Rhined's website says.
Who might be eligible for such a nomination? Simply anyone you think could benefit from some kindness — a frontline worker you'd like to show some support, a family member who lives alone, a teacher (or mom-turned-teacher), etc.
The team behind The Rhined will choose 10 nominees a week to receive The Rhined Mini, which comes with three cheeses, accoutrements and a bag of crostini.
Just fill out the form on their website with your nominee's info and explain why you think they should be nominated.
"Nominate as many deserving people as you would like! We’re are all going to get through this with kindness, love and community (from a distance)," the website concludes.
