Doris Day is one of the most famous people to ever come from Cincinnati. She was one of the top singers of the ’50s and ’60s and also starred in iconic films like Alfred Hitchcock's The Man Who Knew Too Much and Pillow Talk, co-starring Rock Hudson and James Garner. Day, now 97, has also been a staunch advocate and spokesperson for the welfare of animals throughout her life.

On Tuesday (April 30), community education organization EmpowerU is hosting a tribute to Day at West Side Brewing. The event will celebrate Day's life through photos and stories, as well as a performance by vocalist Dolores Raye of 10 songs made famous by Day.
