If you're on an afternoon stroll down by The Banks on Oct. 19 and happen to see a horde of zombies, Pennywise the killer clown and the Super Mario Brothers jogging in unison, don't rush to the psych ward: it's just the Haunted Hustle 4 Miler. This costumed four-mile run is put on by 4EG to benefit the Greater Cincinnati Ronald McDonald House.
Feeling sporty? You can participate in the run, which will take you between Paul Brown Stadium and the riverbanks in front of Eden Park. There, you'll compete with the city's ghoulish athletes and amateurs, then party afterward at The Stretch on Freedom Way where the run both begins and ends.
If you'd rather not run, then just come to party and enjoy the spooky celebrations. Costumes are encouraged, not required, and every runner and partier is eligible to participate in a costume contest later that afternoon with a grab bag grand prize. The haunted hootenanny begins at 11 a.m. and the race starts at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 19.
Take advantage of early-bird ticket pricing before Oct. 1, where race registration starts at $35 and includes entrance into the race, a swag-filled fanny pack and three drink tickets provided by The Stretch. Party-only tickets start at $10 and will score you three drink tickets.
