While the world has essentially been on lockdown in order to flatten the coronavirus curve, many restaurants and bars have either closed indefinitely, closed permanently, adapted their businesses to carry-out or delivery platforms, or have had to come up with creative alternatives to continue serving the community.

Gorilla Cinema Presents temporarily closed several of their popular establishments, but in the meantime, they've been doing what they do best — coming up with exciting pop-ups to keep us (and our taste buds) entertained.

After a popular several-weeks-long daiquiri pop-up outside of the Lonely Pine Steakhouse ended, the team shifted gears to host a Cinco de Mayo pop-up on the patio of their Over-the-Rhine tequila bar La Ofrenda. They have since decided to extend the weekend shindig, offering a selection of margaritas, cocktails, tamales and tequilas to-go on a first-come, first-served basis (no ordering ahead).

In compliance with Gov. Mike DeWine's most recent guidelines for business openings, La Ofrenda's patio will be open with limited seating beginning next weekend (May 16).

"As with every experience we create, safety is our number one priority, so we’ll try out patio seating before we determine if limited indoor seating is something we feel comfortable doing," co-owner and creative director Katie Frasier said in an email.

La Ofrenda's carry-out drink menu includes their popular grapefruit-basil margarita, jalapeno-cucumber margarita, coffee-infused Zocalo Cafe margarita, the Paloma, Michelada and more.

The $4 tamale options include veggie, chicken and a tamale of the day.

Open noon-6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
