Kings Island is officially open daily for visitors, which means summertime is upon us.

Guests can expect a few new things this season, all of which have been rolled out over the past several open weekends including the return of the park's popular Antique Cars ride, a nostalgic renovation of International Street to reflect what it originally looked like in 1972, the addition of the Miami River Brewhouse restaurant and bar and an exciting new event.

The park announced in a press release that they will be hosting a new festival this summer called Grand Carnivale from June 15 to July 7. Chad Showalter, director of communications at Kings Island, describes the event as a "larger-than-life festival celebrating the rich traditions of India, China, Italy, France and Germany." Throughout the festival, guests can experience "authentic tastes and sips, play lively games, make unique crafts, be mesmerized by our extravagant parade and top off the night at the party of all parties filled with international music, magic and merrymaking."

The party begins at 5 p.m. with the Spectacle of Color Parade starting at 8 p.m. The fantastical parade will feature music and floats including a "larger-than-life" elephant, Bollywood performers and a Jules Verne airship as they make their trip through the park, ending at the Eiffel Tower.

The festival will end the evening with a dance party featuring live entertainment, a DJ and a fireworks display at 10 p.m.
