After nearly a decade performing around the Greater Cincinnati music scene, local altrockers One Day Steady will play their final show tonight. The event at the recently reopened Top Cats in Corryville begins at 7 p.m. and tickets are just $5.
The seeds of One Day Steady were planted in 2008 when guitarists Ryan Peters and Tucker Stremming began writing music together for a different project. A few years later, the current One Day Steady lineup was in place and performing around town. The band released its second album, Cinematic, in 2014. Befitting the band’s ’90s-inspired sound, ODS has played with acts like Local H, The Ataris and Smash Mouth.
ODS released a music video for its song “Shoot & Run” last year.
For their finale, the musicians will be joined by fellow local acts See You in the Funnies, Here Come Here and Sundae Drives, as well as Indiana band The Almost Heroes. In a Facebook post, ODS says each band member picked a favorite band to join them at the show. The ODS members also said they are leaving on good terms and decided to stop (for the time being, at least — they’ve left the door open by calling the show “Goodbye for Now”) to focus on their lives and projects individually.
