Local chef Caitlin Steininger — of Wyoming's CWC The Restaurant — is taking her talents to Bravo's Top Chef Season 16.

The cooking competition is taking over the state of Kentucky for the season, featuring 15 chefs from cities around the United States competing for the titular award of "top chef" (and $125,000). They'll be cooking their way across the Bluegrass State with showdowns in Louisville, Lexington and Lake Cumberland, before heading to Macau, China for the finale.

According to a release: "The cheftestants work to impress the judges and notable guests as they bet it all at Kentucky’s famous racetracks, Churchill Downs and Keeneland, cook for Laila Ali at the Muhammad Ali Center, and compete in a buzzer beater showdown for roaring fans at the University of Kentucky’s Rupp Arena with Hall of Famer, Coach Calipari. At Maker’s Mark’s iconic bourbon distillery, the chefs celebrate two Kentucky mainstays as they are tasked with putting their spin on classic dishes including burgoo, Benedictine, hoe cakes and dumplings."

The show, which has won both an Emmy and James Beard Award, is hosted by Padma Lakshmi and judged by Tom Colicchio, Graham Elliot, Nilou Motamed and Gail Simmons. Other contestants facing off against the hometown Steininger include Eric Adjepong of Washington, D.C.; Sara Bradley of Paducah, Ky.; Justin Sutherland of Saint Paul, Minn.; Adrienne Wright of Boston; and others.

The show premieres 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6 on Bravo.
