The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Greater Cincinnati recently elected new leaders for 2010.
Rusty Lockett was elected board president, replacing Bill Abney. Lockett had been the center’s clerk for more than a year, served as event chairman for Pride Night at Kings Island in September and is a longtime Pride and Pride Night volunteer. Also he is convener of the local GLBT Episcopal worship group, called Integrity.—-
Also elected were John Maddux as vice president, Teresa Shepherd as treasurer and Adam Reilly as clerk.
Michael Chanak was elected to another two-year at-large term. Continuing his service on the board is Michael Hollenbeck, who wasn’t up for reelection.
Abney, the former president, was term limited per the center’s by-laws. He and the other departing board member, Jessica Fogle, who didn’t seek reelection, will continue as volunteers at the center.
Opened in late 1993, the Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Greater Cincinnati serves as a resource to the local GLBT community and its allies, offering meeting space and programs.
The center is located on the first floor of 4119 Hamilton Ave. in Northside. For more information, call 513-591-0200.
