Sarah Colonna grew up a sports fan, mostly following baseball. “My dad was a sports editor, so I’m more knowledgeable than I would have been otherwise,” says the Arkansas native.
Colonna’s dad worked at the Orange County Register, which made her a fan of the Los Angeles Angels. Somewhat oddly, though, she’s married to a footballer, former Seattle Seahawks punter Jon Ryan.
Football isn’t a sport Colonna followed previously. “As I’ve gotten older, I appreciate it more. Football used to be something that could be on in the background, but I never followed it.” That has changed.
Onstage she talks not only about sports but also relationships and her day-to-day life. In addition to doing stand-up, Colonna co-hosts the podcast Off the Rails with fellow comic Josh Wolf.
