Light Up Oakley is a holiday display challenge that transforms Oakley businesses and residences into their own mini light shows.
Hosted by the Oakley Community Council, this competition awards businesses with the Best Outdoor Display and Best Window Display; residences with the Best Traditional, Best Themed and the "Griswold" award; and also gives a nod to the Best Block/Street.
And you can make your opinions heard.
Voting goes live at oakleynow.com/Lights on Dec. 18. Scroll through photos of each home and business and pick your favorite in each category. There's also a map featuring the various light displays and their locations — apparently 34th Avenue is really taking this thing seriously.
The community council says, "Two sets of prizes to be awarded for each category, one based on resident/community voting, and one based on Judges voting. The Judges are from our local Arts/Creative community."
Voting ends Jan. 1. Winners will be announced Jan. 2.
