Two years ago, Cale Darrell and Frank Welling opened Reunion Clothiers. Now, that chapter is coming to an end. The vintage haven announced last night via Instagram that, at the end of May, they'll be closing.
"We feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to do this in OTR, a neighborhood and community that fosters entrepreneurship and is staunchly supportive of one another," the Instagram post reads. "We are thankful for the support that we have received in Cincinnati and beyond, the friendships we have made, and the wonderful people we have met."
Reunion's offerings have exuded a distinct old-school Americana flavor since its opening in 2017. At a glance: USA-made denim overalls, jackets, pants and, honestly, denim everything; hip vintage tees through the decades; military-style boots; coveralls; all the cozy flannel; camo and military jackets; and utility shirts.
The store's interior mirrors those nostalgic blue-collar vibes. Worn red rugs lay on rustic hardwood floors; pennants and flags line the walls, and there's even a corner of the store with a leather couch, comfy chairs and a coffee table — which usually has some bourbon on it.
The post went on to say that, in the years they've been open, Darrell's and Welling's lives have been pulled in "different directions."
"We are sad to let Reunion go, but we have other projects in the works so keep an eye out for what’s to come! In classic Reunion fashion, we are planning one hell of a send-off party," the post continues. "Come out this Saturday from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and allow us to say thank you for making these two years so incredible and help us celebrate closing this chapter and beginning another. There will be booze, laughs, and huge discounts!"
