New Seedy Seeds Album Coming Soon

Cincy-based Indie/Electro Pop darlings The Seedy Seeds are ready to launch the next phase in their quest for global domination. The trio — whose profile has risen increasingly around the region since forming about five years ago — recently finished tracking its next album at Newport's Audio Grotto studio. A release party for the album is scheduled for Feb. 26 at the Southgate House—-, featuring a slew of special guests, including Loyal Divide, State Song, Rodeo Ruby Love, Flotation Walls, Cheyenne Mize and Dan Mecher. Following the release, the group is headed out for a nationwide tour, including a stop in Austin, Tex., for the 2011 South By Southwest music fest/conference.

Until then, Margaret Darling, co-founder of the band, takes over the Southgate House’s “Artist in Residence” for January, performing in the venue’s intimate Juney’s Lounge for free every Wednesday this month. For tomorrow’s kick-off show, Darling is joined by singer/songwriter Chris Haubner (The Sheds). On Jan. 12, Lisa Walker of Wussy performs with Darling, while the Jan. 26 show closes out the residency with her Seedy Seeds partner, Mike Ingram, performing a set. Darling has some sparse yet still compelling acoustic demos posted on her MySpace site here.
