Middletown natives Zachary and Andrew Gabbard recently wrapped up three months of touring as part of the extended lineup of The Black Keys on that band's North American arena tour supporting their latest LP, Let's Rock. (Check them out with the Keys on Jimmy Kimmel Live last month here.)

Today (Dec. 6), The Gabbard Brothers released a new single, the ’60s-flavored Pop Rock nugget "Sell Your Gun Buy A Guitar." The sunshiney, Buffalo Springfield-esque track was released via the Loveland, Ohio-based Colemine Records, on its Karma Chief imprint, which the label uses to put out music outside of Colemine's Soul purview.

Cincinnati music fans got to know Andy and Zach in their bands The/Thee Shams and Buffalo Killers. Auerbach was a fan of The Shams and produced BK's 2008 album, Let It Ride. The siblings — who've also been involved in numerous other projects, including solo albums, Middletown's Howler Hills Farm studio space and other musical collaborations — have performed as The Gabbard Brothers a few times in recent years, but "Sell Your Gun" is the first music released under the band name.

Colemine founder Terry Cole says the Gabbards will be working on a full-length album this winter.
