Northern Kentucky Blues singer/songwriter/guitarist Jon Justice is one of the many musicians featured on the new compilation CD, Forgotten But Not Gone, a benefit project for two charities dedicated to assisting those displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Justice and his band are joined by some elite company — Marty Stuart, Delbert McClinton, Steve
Earle, Tony Joe White, Bonnie Bramlett and Lee Roy Parnell (on whose track the Jon Justice Band also performed) are among the other artists featured on the release.—-
In a press release, Justice says, “As a human, to be given the opportunity to give back and help a region of our country that has given so much to us culturally and musically is a very special thing to me.” The CD can be purchased here.
You have several chances to catch Justice — who contributes the track, “Brighter Day,” to the Forgotten But Not Gone disc — around town in the next few weeks. This Friday, he and his band are at Mansion Hill Tavern in Newport, Saturday they’ll play at Silverton’s Play by Play with Seth Walker and, for the MidPoint Music Festival, he’ll open for Charles Walker and The Dynamites at Newport’s Southgate House.
