In 2016, Adam and Matthew Forsthoefel and their bandmates in Cincinnati Rock band The Grove hosted their first Rock ’N Revival for a Cure benefit concert. The multi-act event was create in the wake of the Forsthoefel brothers' father being diagnosed with Glioblastoma, the brain cancer that eventually took his life. To help others as a memorial to their father, they created the John Forsthoefel for Glioblastoma Research Fund at the University of Cincinnati Brain Tumor Center.

Proceeds from the Rock ’N Revival shows go straight into the research fund. Last year's concert raised over $7,000.

If there's a shared characteristic among most Greater Cincinnati musicians, it's that they seem always at the ready to help their community and, especially, fellow musicians for important causes. The Rock ’N Revival benefits have routinely featured some of the top acts from the local music scene, and this year's lineup is perhaps the event's strongest yet.

Taking place this Saturday (March 9) on all three stages at Newport, Kentucky's Southgate House Revival, the 2019 Rock ’N Revival for a Cure features 26 area performs. The diverse cross-section of local music represented includes everything from Hip Hop (Triiibe) and Country (Noah Smith) to Reggae (The Cliftones) and varying shades of Rock & Roll.
