Designer Shailah Maynard, the mind behind the locally based Working Girls art and design brand, specializes in creating tongue-in-cheek modern products with
a feminist lean, from “Femme” muscle tanks and crew socks with film titles like 9 to 5 and Mystic Pizza screen-printed on them to pool floats that look like boobs.The online shop is hosting their annual studio sale on Aug. 10 and Aug. 11 at Camp Washington's artist-run gallery Anytime Dept.
Shoppers can expect $5 Hot Bod Floats, $20 Vogue Mirrors and $30 Organza Thank You Bags (which are made locally by Sew Valley), in addition to collaboration pieces, vintages clothing and more. There will be craft activities to partake in, as well as free beer to drink.
The Diorama Gallery will be open during the event, featuring works from 69, Seth Bogart, Channel 77, Jill Cleary, Thu Tran, Phil Valois and Peter Van Hyning.
The pop-up is reserved for in-person shoppers, there will be no online sales.
