MTV today announced that it would be honoring Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello with an award that was specifically created in response to the “music spontaneity, artistry and virility of the Occupy Wall Street performances.” The specific performance Morello is winning the award for is his performance of “The Fabled City” on Oct. 12 at Zuccotti Park in New York City. “It’s an unusual title for an award, but it’s an award that is for the worldwide rebels who are now occupying 1,300 cities around the planet,” Morello told TheWrap. “The one thing that all the Occupy cities have in common is everyone pitches in and cooperates. I’m a musician, so I pitched in and played.”—-

Two managers of a Domino’s Pizza in Lake City, Fla., have been charged with arson in connection with a fire that destroyed a Papa John’s location.

A Dublin, Ohio resident known only has “the crypt keeper” was asked to take down one of his Halloween decorations, a 6-foot man hanging from a noose in his tree, because it was too realistic. The crypt keeper says that the decoration is “all in good fun.”

“I made it myself from some material I had left over from work. They said it was too offensive to them. I said 'Well, there is a certain shock value to Halloween.' Let's leave the creepy in Halloween!"

To appease the police, the keeper moved the hanging man to a tree closer to his home and its place put a sign up that reads, “less realistic decoration.”
