Kings Island's new giga coaster Orion — one of only seven giga coasters in the world — made its anticipated debut this season.

And now Kings Island is asking the public to help them get the recognition they deserve for this modern amusement marvel: They want your help voting for Orion in USA Today's 10Best poll for "Best New Amusement Park Attraction" in 2020.

"The amusement park’s Orion giga coaster was nominated by a panel of USA Today experts as one of the best new amusement park attractions in 2020," says a release from Kings Island. "Now it’s up to voters to decide who will take the highly contested top spot. But time is running out. Everyone can vote once per day until polls close on Monday, December 21 at noon ET."

USA Today's write-up says of the coaster: "Orion joins the roller coaster lineup at Kings Island as only the seventh giga coaster (coasters that have a drop of 300 to 399 feet) in the world. Thrill seekers plummet down a 300-foot drop to kick things off. The ride reaches speeds up to 91 MPH along the 5,321 feet of track."

To be specified as a "giga coaster," a ride must have a height or drop of 300 to 399 feet. To put that into perspective, Kings Island's iconic Eiffel Tower is 315 feet. According to Kings Island, the coaster is the park's fastest, tallest and longest steel coaster.

Winners will be announced Dec. 31. Voting is available at 10best.com.
