MadTree has partnered with Southern Indiana's Beiersdorfer Orchard to craft a brand new hard cider, available only in the Oakley taproom.
This will be MadTree's first hard cider and will boast a semi-sweet flavor with a crisp apple finish. The cider's name, 42 Mile, comes from the fact that the orchard is 42 miles away from the brewery.
“When we set out to make a hard cider, it was really important for us to know where the fruit came from and who the farmer was that grew it,” said Ryan Blevins, MadTree head brewer, in a release. “Once I visited the Beiersdorfer farm and talked with (orchard general manager) Jeremy, I knew his apple cider would be the right base to make a quality, delicious hard cider that we’d be proud of to represent MadTree.”
42 Mile goes on tap Friday, Dec. 14 in the taproom at 3301 Madison Road, Oakley. The brewery has no plans to distribute the cider and state law prohibits patrons from taking growlers to go. So, basically, enjoy it while you're there.
