A captain with the Cincinnati Police Department has been arrested and will face federal charges, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Ohio announced today.
Authorities have not released details about why CPD Captain Michael Savard was arrested, but U.S. Attorney Benjamin Glassman, IRS Criminal Investigation Acting Special Agent in Charge William Cheung and CPD Chief Eliot Isaac will hold a news conference tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. to share more details.
Savard was promoted to captain in 2017 and makes $113,000 a year in the department's special services unit. He was suspended in January, though CPD officials have not specified why.
