The Kentucky Symphony Orchestra is teaming up with Ludlow, Kentucky's Circus Mojo for an evening of socially distant entertainment.
The event — Swingin' Cirque Revue — will take place 7:30-9:15 p.m. Saturday, July 11 at Fort Thomas' Tower Park.
This won't be the first collaboration between the two entertainment groups, according to the Facebook event page. They first joined forces in 2010 and created a show complete with high-wire acts, jugglers and more.
"Ten year’s later they are back together with the orchestra’s 10-pc. Swing group (The Devou-Doo Daddies), performing the high-energy 1990s Swing revival music of The Squirrel Nut Zippers, Royal Crown Revue, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and more. 'Hey Pachuco' — What other symphony would combine zany high-flying acts with Swing?" The event page reads.
The suggested donation to attend is $5 and guests are asked to bring blankets or lawn chairs to sit on.
You can register online for updates about this and future events, for a chance to win tickets or other prizes throughout the season. One grand prize winner will be chosen on Sept. 5 to take home a $320 KSO package, which includes two subscriptions to the 2020-2021 concert series.
Guests are asked to wear masks and social distance from others while at the event. There will be hand sanitizer available and the KSO will be checking staff, musicians' and volunteers' temperatures. They also ask if you are sick, or have been in contact with someone who is sick within 48 hours of the event, to stay home.
The performance will also be available on Facebook Live.
