Edward Stern, producing artistic director of Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park since 1992, announced in August his plan to leave the Playhouse at the end of the 2011-2012 season. The Playhouse invites you to attend one of two input sessions regarding its search for new artistic leadership. The sessions, which are open to the general public, are set for this evening (Nov. 15) and next Monday (Nov. 22) at 5:30-7:30 p.m.—-
Discussions will be led by Jack Rouse, past chair of the Playhouse’s board who is currently chairing the search process. Interestingly, Rouse is also involved in the search process for new leadership for the Cincinnati Symphony and Pops, and he was named president of the Music Hall Revitalization Company, charged with managing the process of bringing that historic building up to contemporary standards (read more here). He truly has his hands on the future of Cincinnati’s artistic community.
The Playhouse hopes to hear your opinions about characteristics that should be possessed by the next artistic leader of the Tony Award-winning regional theater. The sessions are also intended to identify what the theater’s artistic leader should be doing to ensure that it continues to thrive in the future.
If you’re interested in attending, the Playhouse asks you to touch base in advance. Let them know by calling 513-345-2242 during business hours (9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday) or send an e-mail to [email protected]. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open at 5 p.m. Limited free parking is available at the Playhouse. Cash bar will be available.
