Morning News and Stuff

British Prime Minister David Cameron today said that he was “extremely sorry” for the trauma caused by the hiring of Andy Coulson as his public relations chief. Cameron acknowledged that if he had known when he appointed the former News of the World editor what he knew now — that he’s an unscrupulous turd — then he never would have offered him the position in the first place. "Of course I regret, and I am extremely sorry about the furore it has caused. With 20:20 hindsight and all that has followed I would not have offered him the job and I expect that he wouldn't have taken it."—-

Fox News goons have stood by their savior, Rupert Murdoch as he is surrounded by scandal, but Bill O’Reilly is of the opinion that “journalists are people, too” and should be subjected to the law in the case of phone hacking. O’Reilly agreed that the New York Times “absolutely running wild” with the story was questionable and expressed skepticism in his guest’s argument that no further journalistic regulations are needed in England. The Heritage Foundation’s Nile Gardner defended News Corporation against the “witch hunt” and sang a sad song about the potential of an ongoing investigation. “The British press is probably the freest on the face of the earth,” Gardner argued, but “there is real accountability in place. We don’t need new regulations.”

What’s the most bombastic thing you’ve ever done? If you’re not Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Ahyan, don’t even bother answering the question. The 63-year-old sheikh scrawled his name in the sand on an island he owns, and guess what? You can see that shit from space.

All your islands belong to Hamad!

The bout of overcompensation is not the first from the Abu Dhabi Don Corleone, as he’s rumored to own some 200 cars including seven Mercedes 500 SELs painted in different colors of the rainbow, which he stores in a giant pyramid. Hamad also constructed a motor home in the shape of a giant globe that is exactly 1 millionth the size of the actual earth. Oh, and he looks like George W.

Imagine being one of this guy’s kids.

Hey, sheihk Bobby. Want to see my dad’s giant pyramid?

Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) is talking crazy again. The freshman congressman said in a far-ranging rant on the site “Red Country” that supporters of President Obama are “a threat to the gene pool.”

“I believe we are headed towards the ultimate ideological clash in America. There is a widening chasm which has developed between those who believe in principled fiscal policies and those desiring the socialist bureaucratic nanny-state.” West is the same guy who was discharged from the army for abusing an Iraqi back in 2004 said he can’t possibly be Islamophobic because he brought “the light of freedom into the Islamic world.”

The Dark Knight Rises - Official Teaser Trailer [HD]. Now he just needs to turn Inception into a sequel.
