Over-the-Rhine's HomeMakers Bar knows a thing or two about entertaining guests the old fashioned way. The retro-inspired bar offers a sort of "home away from home" vibe served alongside domestic cocktails and bites from the 1950s through the 1970s.
And this season, they're celebrating by publishing a mini-book dedicated to all things holiday entertaining and by hosting a special pop-up featuring nine female-owned businesses.
HomeMakers' "Guide to Entertaining: Holiday Edition" provides helpful hints on how to make cocktails at home, including batch cocktails and punches, plus cocktail/mocktail and food recipes. It also includes a gift guide that highlights spirits, tools and more for all your favorite drinkers.
The book costs $9.99 for a digital copy, and $18.99 for a preordered print copy (available for shipping or in-store on Dec. 16).
Then from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17, the bar is hosting a holiday pop-up shop featuring nine female-owned businesses including Idlewild, Gia & The Blooms, Mutiny Club, Emily Lyn Design, Pop Rocket Creations, Sloane Boutique, Alexis Nickelle Co. and Huck & Hunny Bakery.
HomeMakers' Bottleshop will also be open with cocktail kits and mixers (which can be preordered online).
Additionally, there will be copies of the bar's mini book available for purchase.
