Like every other business, COVID-19 has been impacting Greater Cincinnati creamy whips.
On June 30, Putz's Creamy Whip (2673 Putz Place) announced that with the recent surge in coronavirus cases, employees there may have been exposed to COVID-19. They notified the board of health and decided to close for a deep clean and to reevaluate their safety procedures.
"We have several at-risk customers, employees and family members so we want to make sure we are prioritizing everyone’s safety," Putz's wrote in a Facebook post.
After the deep-clean, they reopened to the public on Monday, July 6 — much to the delight of fans.
And just after they reopened, Westwood's Zip Dip (4050 Drew Ave.) announced they were closing after an employee there tested positive for COVID-19.
"After the suspected time of exposure, but prior to experiencing symptoms, this employee did work one shift (Tuesday 6/30)," they wrote in a Facebook post. "Please be assured that during this shift a mask was worn covering both the nose and mouth for the entire shift while also wearing gloves and frequently washing hands."
"We feel that we have been extremely cautious with our measures to prevent infection however as you all know, this virus is relentless," they continued.
"As we mentioned back in March, our number one priority will always be our community which includes our amazing employees and customers. With this in mind, we will be closing for the next week, effective immediately, to allow us time to ensure that our staff remains as healthy as possible in order to serve our customers as best we can."
Zip Dip will be closed for at least a week and will reopen when their staff gets "a clean bill of health," they say.
We wish this post were coming to you with better news. As we all know, the number of COVID-19 cases has grown...
