Depending on how you feel about pickles, this event will either be a dream come true... or your worst nightmare.

Urban Artifact and Izzy’s have teamed up once again to re-release their collaboration beer Pickle, a German-style sour gose that originally launched in 2017.

Pickle, a wheat beer, is brewed with 1,000 pounds of cucumbers, two pounds of fresh dill, 9 pounds of sea salt and 1.25 pounds of coriander per 30 BBL batch. The goal of the gose is basically to replicate the taste of biting into a fresh and famous Izzy’s dill pickle.

To commemorate the event, the brewery is hosting a tapping and can release party 4-7 p.m. June 26, with free Izzy-tizers from Izzy’s. Guests can try pickle on draft or buy six-packs to take home.

“Pickle was a fan favorite from the moment it hit the shelves last year,” said Scotty Hunter, chief of strategic development for Urban Artifact in a press release. “We are excited to offer Pickle again for our fans and pickle lovers alike, nothing goes better with a burger or Rueben."

In addition to the tapping, Urban Artifact will be hosting a pickle-eating competition from 6-7 p.m. during the party, where up to 40 people can compete to see who can eat the most Izzy’s pickles in five minutes. The person who eats the most — by weight — at the end of five competition heats will be crowned the pickle-eating champ. (If you want to register, visit signup.com/go/TrRKkPb.)

The limited-edition brew will be available at the taproom, various retailers and select Izzy’s locations while supplies last.

Urban Artifact is located at 1660 Blue Rock St., Northside. For more info, visit artifactbeer.com.
