Covington's Madison Theater has announced that Hip Hop star/author/poet/activist Common will be performing there on Aug. 10.

Tickets are $48 in advance and go on sale here this Friday (June 14) at 10 a.m. (Tickets will be $58 day of show.)

Common is currently on a book tour in support of his memoir, Let Love Have the Last Word, in which he revealed he was sexually abused as a child, something he says he shared to help others struggling with similar abuse issues. In May, the 47-year-old rapper revealed he would be releasing a new album with the same title, his first new solo music since 2016's Black America Again.

There's no release date yet for the Let Love Have the Last Word album, but the event page for the Madison Theater concert says, "Every pair of tickets for this show includes new music from Common. You will receive an email with more details about this offer approximately 7 days after your purchase."
